The home was built circa 1900 and with its additions is one of the largest, most comfortable homes of its kind in the area. The home was completely updated in 2010 including Spanish tile throughout. There is 1750 sq feet of climate controlled area inside and 400 sq feet of screened porch to rock away a lazy afternoon outside. There is plenty of parking for your boat and trailer. The house is 1000 feet from the river and 4000 feet from the bay. Public boat ramps and parking are located within a few blocks.
Excellent grouper, snapper, mackerel, pompano, redfish, trout, sheepshead and flounder fishing await you in the river, bay or open waters of the Gulf. Charters are available at the many marinas. If golf is your sport, St. James Bay offers a challenging 18 hole course beautifully seated among the coastal marsh and flora. If you are one for nature, Tate's Hell State Park offers extensive walking/hiking trails, as well as kayaking

Directions: From Tallahassee – Continue west on Hwy 98 through Carabelle, turn right on Tallahassee Street, if you reach St. James Ave you've gone a little too far. Travel .1 mile to 206 Tallahassee will be on your right, The McKissack House is a white historic home with a rap around screened in porch.
Check-In instructions: You may check-in after 4:00pm and Check-out is at 10:00am. Arrangements can be made for early arrival and late check-out for a small fee subject to availability. To enter the go to the back door there will be an electronic keypad enter the code 2010 and the door will unlock for entry. Damages: Should an accident happen, please call us immediately to let us know about it at the numbers below. Just a Few Reminders: While we try to make things convenient for our guests, please remember we are not a hotel. You are staying in someone's home – please take care of it as if it were your own. Bed and bath linens are provided along with basic supplies such as garbage bags, dish detergent and cleaning products with an initial supply of paper products - we provide one roll of paper towels and a roll of toilet paper in each bath. You will need to provide any other cleaning supplies or paper products you may need for your stay. Soap, shampoo, personal items, coffee, etc are not provided. All Units are NON-SMOKING! PLEASE GO OUTSIDE TO SMOKE!!! You may smoke on the balcony but please close the doors. Remember smoke can linger and since these are NON-SMOKING units, we can tell if someone has smoked in them and it is considered damage! Check-Out Instructions: Please load and run any dishes you may have used. Leave the beds you have used unmade and take your trash to the can outside. Make sure all balcony doors are locked and set the AC on 78° (or the heat on 65° in the winter months).
