During the summer Franklin County is home to many nesting species as our diversity of habitat provides for species ranging from rails in the salt marsh to osprey and eagles in the highest trees, Carrabelle is also on the fall Monarch Butterfly Migration trail. The fishing here is great all year around, bring your catch home and cook it right on the grill provided for you.
Places to visit in the surrounding area include: Tate's Hell Nature Trail, the Historic Carrabelle Lighthouse and Museum, Camp Gordon Johnston World War II Museum, Dog Island Ferry excursions, charter fishing, kayaking, cycling paths, guided boat tours at Wakulla Springs, Panacea's Gulf Specimen Marine Lab (with touch pools for children), Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve, a variety of local seafood eateries and a local supermarket. Address: 97 Gulf Ave. Carrabelle Fl. 32322.Directions: Coming into Carrabelle on Hwy 98 from the East, Gulf Avenue (C-30) bears on to the left just after the Franklin County Courthouse Annex. Bay Watch will be on your left about a mile down. Alternatively, you can turn south on Marine Street in downtown and follow the Carrabelle River. Bear to the left on SE Avenue F just after the Riverfront Pavilion and then bear right on Gulf Avenue just past SE 4th St.
Check-In: Check-In is at 4 pm and Check-out is at 10 am, unless prior arrangements have been made. A late check- out or early check-in fee may apply. When you arrive at the home there will be a lock box at the entry door on the west end of the home facing Gulf Avenue. Open the shutter door to reveal the dials and the release button and rotate the dials to 2266 Press down on the release button to open the door to remove the key. Damages: Our rental policies require that your security deposit is held by credit card and we reserve the right to charge the credit card on file for any damages or missing items as necessary. We will contact you regarding these damages and payment. Should an accident happen, please call us immediately to let us know about it. Just a Few Reminders: This home is NON-SMOKING! PLEASE GO OUTSIDE TO SMOKE!!! You may smoke on the porch but please close the doors. While we try to make things convenient for our guests, please remember we are not a hotel. You are staying in someone's home and we expect you to take care of it as if it were your own. We provide basic cleaning supplies, garbage bags, a roll of paper towels and a roll of toilet paper in each bath. You will need to provide any other cleaning supplies or paper products you may need for your stay. Soap, shampoo, personal items, coffee, food, etc are not provided. Please: Be courteous to your neighbors and keep the level of noise down after 9 pm. Lock the unit behind you when you leave; during your stay and at check-out. Dispose of all fish waste properly and do not place in the trash can. There is a very nice fish cleaning station at the city boat ramp on Marine St. Trash pick-up is on Tuesday. If you are staying for the week, please take the trash can out to the road Monday night. If you are a weekend guest, please take your trash out to the street when you leave. Do not turn your AC below 73 degrees. This can cause the unit to freeze up or create large amounts of condensation which damage the home and the AC unit itself. If we find the thermostat set below 73 and damage occurs, you will be responsible for any and all repairs. Please remember that you are not staying in a hotel – the air conditioning unit is not built to “suddenly” cool the whole home; it must be done gradually as in your own home. Likewise with the heat! Turn off lights and fans when away from the home and when you leave - helping to keep the utility bills down for our owners allows us to keep our rates lower. Do not run the air-conditioning or heat with the doors open. Check-Out: When you leave, please take your trash to the can provided, lock all the doors and return your key to the lock box using the instructions above – scramble the numbers and make sure the key is secure. There is a charcoal grill for your use, please clean after using it for the next guest. The washing machine requires special detergent so if you do laundry use HE (High Efficiency) detergent to prevent damage to the washing machine.
