Turn on the light, enter the elevator and close the scissor gate and door before pressing the button for the floor you are going to. The scissor gate and door must be closed for the elevator to operate. If you close the door without closing the scissor gate, the door will lock and the elevator will not move. Make sure you close the scissor gate every time you use the elevator so you will be able to call it when needed and do not allow children to operate or play on the elevator.
